Keizo Kitajima is best known for his B&W projects on Tokyo and Okinawa which are radical interpretations of an aesthetic established by the Provoke movement in the 60s and 70s. In a major departure both in subject matter and style he traveled throughout the Soviet Union in 1991, on the eve of it's dissolution. USSR, 1991 is the first publication of this complete project.
