curated by an American photography writer and critic Vince Aletti. Bruce Bellas, better known as Bruce of Los Angeles, was one of America's most prolific photographers of the male nude. Pioneering the eroticised approach to beefcake that came to be known as physique photography of the 1940s and '50s, Bellas continued to influence the field well into the 1970s. The book presents a counterpart to Bellas' stylised nudes, wherein real cowboys are depicted casually dressed and relaxing between bronco busting or bull riding performances at Western rodeos in the 1950s, '60s, and '70s. Three pages with hand mounted replica prints. Printed on a Japanese Komori printing press. Item #13124
