This small artist's book produced in a limited edition of 100 copies contains eight photographs pasted into the pages of various Speedway programmes all sleeved in a linoprint stitched cloth envelope. Part of a series of books and that Stephen Gill has produced over the past decade on Hackney. This one refers to the sports stadium at Waterden Road in Hackney, once home to the Hackney Wick Wolves, the Hackney Hawks, the Hackney Kestrels and finally the London Lions. The stadium was closed in December 1997 and the derelict site was subsequently taken over by a Sunday market known as Hackney Wick and later as part of the London 2012 Olympic stadium complex.
