Walter Pfeiffer’s Scrapbooks from 1969 to 1982 are crammed full of Polaroids and photographs that alternate with miscellaneous ephemera – newspaper clippings, postcards, packaging, tickets. Assembled into large collages, they serve as both a visual diary and a creative foundation for his artistic work. In his scrapbooks, Pfeiffer’s views on love and popular culture, his irreverent humor as well as his appreciation for the poetry of the banal, are sharply drawn into focus. They offer a view into Pfeiffer’s meandering and playful universe and are a contemporary document that captures the spirit of the 1970s and 1980s with ephemeral elegance. With a Text by Martin Jaeggi in German and English. Item #18446
