Japanese artist Momo Okabe's first book since their two groundbreaking Session Press publications Dildo (2013) closely followed by Bible (2014) for which they received the prestigious Paul Huf Award given out by FOAM in The Netherlands. Made-up of photographs taken between 2014 and 2019 Irmatar explores pregnancy and childbirth and the experiences of being non-binary in contemporary Japan amongst a tightly knit group of friends, many of them transgender.
