Japanese photographer Taro Hirano is probably best know for his book “Pool” originally published in 2005 (reprinted in 2016). Beautifully simple photographs of empty and abandoned swimming pools used by skaters in Southern California. He brings the same architectural style to another American motif, car culture, photographing cars of all stripes (trucks, sports cars and "beaters" are all given equal footing) as they speed down Los Angeles highways shot from adjacent cars all from the same perspective.
