In his latest photobook “Lost Time”, the venerable Japanese photographer Kyoji Takahashi addresses the subject of the flower in photography. Takahashi’s photographs approach their subjects with admiration and respect. With little pretension he tries to capture flowers as they are, as they appear to him, without reutilizing them as symbols or signifiers. The mood is tinged with nostalgia and an awareness of the passage of time. In handwritten pages he quotes Proust and Nabokov and the title itself is a direct reference to Proust’s “In Search of Lost Time”. Each copy of the book is enclosed in a bag with hand drawings and signature in colored felt tip. Designed by the former art director of Purple Magazine, Christophe Brunnquell. Item #22687
