Apples and pears grew in New York, while Guadalupe Ruiz was an artist in residence in the Big Apple. Inspired by an old publication she found in the city about the state’s apple varieties, she went to local markets to track down those cultivated there today. The zine that resulted is a combination of photography, hand collage on printing plates, offset printing and photography once again. The final stage of the process was a big apple cake made with all her ingredients. Item #24243
