300 advanced copies were made available in September 2010 to a select group of specialist bookstores, including Dashwood. The release for the rest of the edition was scheduled for Spring 2011 but never materialized. Created over four years (2006-2010), Broken Manual resembles a handmade artist's book investigating the places in which people retreat to escape civilization. Soth photographs monks, survivalists, hermits and runaways in a non-conventional documentary way. Working with the writer Lester B.
