During a six month period between Berlin and New York, illustrators Christoph Niemann and Nicholas Blechman used their iPhones to have a visual conversation. Blechman, the Creative Director of The New Yorker would send a photo to  Niemann who is a frequent contributor to the magazine, who would reply with a drawing, and vice versa. In his introduction, David Remnick describes the process as "an egoless, delightful, and fascinating game of creative one-upsmanship. "    
The drawings and photos in this publication appear in Talking Pictures: Camera-Phone Conversation Between Artists at The Metropolitan Museum of Art (June 27-December 17).
