The iconic skate brand, Supreme, has long been known for its' collaborations with major American artists including Larry Clark, Richard Prince, Christopher Wool, Ari Marcopoulos and Terry Richardson in creating T-shirts, skateboards as well as books.  This latest project is brilliantly realized by acclaimed British photographer David Sims and creative director Andrew Richardson, documenting their skate team of Tyshawn Jones, Sage Elsesser, Sean Pablo and Aidan Mackey.  Shot in New York, the images take in a range of set-ups, both on location and in the studio, steering away from skate photography clichés to offer a unique take on American youth.

 

Dashwood is proud to host its' first book signing for David Sims who has been one of the most influential creative voices in fashion photography over the past twenty plus years.  He has been responsible for some of the most defining images of the 1990s; part of a generation that emerged in London as a counterpoint to the high gloss, supermodel aesthetic that preceded it.  Known for his exacting practice, the stark modernism of his studio portraits, this latest project only goes to underscore his continuing evolution as a photographer constantly pushing the medium.
