ArgueSKE 1994-1997 is the first monograph by the talented and influential photographer Davide Sorrenti who tragically died in 1997 at the age of just twenty leaving behind him a rich archive documenting nineties downtown New York through his extraordinary photographs, scrapbooks, graffiti drawings, tear sheets and contact sheets. Coming in the wake of Charlie Curran’s documentary See Know Evil which sought to unravel the photographer’s complex legacy, inextricably linked with a period in fashion known as ‘heroin chic’, the film and book pay tribute to the life of the prodigious fashion photographer, drawing renewed focus on the mark he has left.
The highly anticipated first printing released in November last year sold out in a number of weeks. The launch of the second printing at Dashwood Books will be exclusively stamped by his mother, the photographer and curator, Francesca Sorrenti with the ArgueSKE / Sorrenti family stamp.
