Holding Water, an exhibition of photographs by Genesis Báez at Dashwood Projects, is on view November 20, 2025 through January 17, 2026. The exhibition builds on Báez’s debut monograph, Blue Sun/ Sol Azul (Capricious Publishing, 2025), which was shortlisted for the 2025 Aperture Paris-Photo Photobook Award in the First Photobook category. Holding Water centers the performative thread that runs through Báez’s practice and monograph, presenting photographs of the artist and her mother, relatives, or casted community members. Made in Puerto Rico and its diaspora, and engaging the elemental, Holding Water explores permeability, placemaking, and photography’s capacity to hold what may be invisible, yet felt. Item #29490
