Liam and Connor Dobbin book signing

Dashwood is proud to announce a book signing with the twin brothers, Connor and Liam Dobbin, photographers based in Cambridge, southern Ontario. Dashwood has been carrying their zines for the past five years but this is the first booksigning with either brother. The Dobbin brothers have worked with a variety of small publishers from all over the world as well as publishing their own work producing small books and zines largely based on their life in Canada and their travels.

Dobbin Diary by Connor Dobbin is an intimate diary of life in Cambridge, the factory he works at, and time spent with French-Canadian friends in Montreal. The project began with a shoot inspired by the anime Neon Genesis Evangelion in a friend’s apartment and grew into a broader record of work, friendship, and daily experience. The book includes a foreword by Valerie Phillips.

Stop the Bleeding by Liam Dobbin was inspired by a 2011 self published zine entitled Confused Youth. It continues to examine how youth culture shapes personal identity long after adolescence ends. Revisiting the skate culture, friendships and isolation of his youth, Stop the Bleeding is a meditation on memory and vulnerability.
