1. Nigel Shafran – Workbooks (Loose Joints, 2024)

Shafran’s notebooks filled with drawings, notes and ephemera as well as photographs are integral to the way he builds his ideas and projects. Published by Loose Joints who have emerged in the last decade as an important voice in photobook publishing.

2. Joji Hashiguchi - We have no place to be 1980-1982 (Session Press, 2020)

Great Documentary work by Hashiguchi as he traveled through five Western cities: Liverpool, London, Nuremberg, West Berlin, and New York in a quest to further chronicle communities of disenfranchised youths abroad.

3. Deanna Templeton - What She Said (Mack, 2021)

The book combines contemporary portraits of adolescence girls navigating the intensity of teenage life with excerpts from Templeton’s own journal entries from the mid to late 80s.

4. The Lora Webb Nichols Archive - Encampment, Wyoming: Selections From The Lora Webb Nichols Archive 1899-1948 (Fw:Books, 2021)

Book of archival photographs offer a candid depiction of small town life on the American western frontier in the copper m mining town of Encampment in Wyoming during the first half of the 20th century.

5. Gilles Peress by Whatever You Say, Say Nothing (Steidl, 2021)

Peress' long awaited classic documentation of The Troubles in Northern Ireland; from Bloody Sunday to the peace negations in the 1990s. Two huge volumes combined with a reader. It did not disappoint.

6. Stacy Kranitz - As It Was Give n To Me (Twin Palms, 2022)

For twelve years Stacy Kranitz documented life in the Appalachian region of the United States in order to explore how photography can solidify or demystify stereotypes.
