Submission Policy

If you have a publication you would like to submit for review, please drop off or mail a single copy to our store address with your name and email attached. We are currently only able to view books in their completed form, we will not consider books in progress, mock-ups, or PDFS.

Any unsolicited submissions will be considered review copies and may not be accepted or replied to. While we want to remain accessible to artists in allowing unsolicited submissions, unfortunately we do not have the capacity to reply to declined submissions at this time. Submissions not accepted will be donated.

We view all of our submissions to be considered as part of our consignment program. If we accept your book, we often take between 3-5 copies initially and pay 50% of the retail price after the complete consignment sells or one calendar year, whichever comes first. We strongly prefer to pay via PayPal or by check rather than cash payments.

Single copies submitted for review act as an in-store reading or display copy and are not considered part of the inventory that may be consigned to Dashwood Books. In the event they are sold, you will be paid 50% per our usual consignment terms. If they are damaged through handling to the point they are not sellable, Dashwood Books is not accountable for compensation.
