Catalogue from the current show at Le Bal in Paris drawn mainly from the archives of the Fotomuseum den Haag in Holland that includes 200 works, prints rescued from the artists studios and shelters where they were obtained the artist’s signature patina of chemicals on out-of-date photographic paper – sometimes dried and burnt with a candle, deliberately exposed to the wear, torn, dusty with footprints, scratches, mouse droppings and pigeon shit.
