Taiyo Onorato and Nico Krebs are Swiss artists based in Berlin, they have been working together since 2003 producing some of the freshest and most interesting work of the past decade. Having explored America and The West in their break-though project The Great Unreal in 2010, this time in Continental Drift they set off from their home in Zurich and chose to head East across Eurasia to their ultimate destination, Ulan Bator, the capital of Mongolia. But their form of documentation is only a point of departure as they seek out strange images and create others to compliment them in a series of trompe-l’oeil constructions that twist our perspective and make the viewer question the reality of their own experience.
